Nostalgia Run on Parsenn

People have been skiing in Switzerland for over 150 years. One of the legendary descents that was once discovered for skiing led from the Weissfluh summit down to Küblis on Parsenn - an impressive 12-kilometre route.

Following in the footsteps of the past, this route inspired generations of skiers with pure downhill fun. Along the route, information boards provided interesting insights into the history of skiing in Davos and on Parsenn. Depending on the snow conditions, the descent was possible either as far as Küblis or Schifer.

The Competition

Participated and won

Anyone who had read the boards on the route could answer the following questions. If all the questions were answered correctly, a small nostalgia present awaited.

Item 1: Under which name is the route from the Weissfluh summit to Küblis known?
Item 2: What was new about the construction of the Parsennbahn worldwide?
Item 3: What was the name of the model of the first piste machine?
Item 4: How many IMIS measuring stations are spread over the entire Swiss Alpine region?
Item 5: Where does the name of the Parsenn Derby come from?
Item 6: When was the Davos Ski Club founded?

FAQ's

The most important questions

The Nostalgia Run was located on Parsenn and could therefore be travelled on with a day ticket for the Parsenn area.

On the one hand, the guest had to be able to read and, above all, ski or snowboard. They also had to bring the appropriate snow sports equipment. Then nothing stood in the way of the downhill fun of the Nostalgia Run from the start at the Weissfluh summit to the end in Küblis.

As soon as the Schiferbahn and Gipfelbahn lifts were open at the start of the season, the Nostalgia Run was open for use. Depending on the snow conditions, the route was open as far as Küblis until around mid-March.

As long as all the questions had been answered in full, the competition could be redeemed at both the Parsenn Davos and Parsenn Klosters ticket offices. If all the questions were correct, the competition participant received a small nostalgia gift.

This was of course a surprise and was not revealed.
